Cookie Policy
The technologies that support the poll, the choices available to you and the current status of optional tracking.

Scope and responsibility
This policy concerns cookies and similar technologies used in connection with Public Voice Canada. The operator is Lofthouse Wildlife Surveys, Wallingford; VAT ID: GB 432244330; Registration Date: 2023-02-13; Authorised representative: Elliot Mercer. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
These technologies can support page functions, remember a choice or, where separately enabled, measure activity. This policy distinguishes essential functions from optional categories so that permission for one purpose is not mistaken for permission for another. Email communication is governed by the choice beside the email form.
Essential functions
Essential technologies support the operation of the poll and retain your privacy selections. The interface also needs to keep track of your chosen answers while you move between questions so that you can return to a previous step without losing your selection during the active visit.
Essential functions do not provide permission for independent advertising or profiling. Their purpose is to make the requested interaction possible and respect choices you have already made. Disabling all site technologies through browser controls may affect the way preferences or survey navigation operate.
Analytics and marketing categories
Analytics can measure how pages are used and help identify an interaction that is difficult to complete. No external analytics service is currently loaded by this site. Allowing the analytics category records your preference; it does not by itself create an analytics service or send information to one.
Marketing technologies can measure advertising or support related audience functions. No marketing tracker is currently active on this site. If an optional service is introduced, its provider, purpose and relevant duration must be explained before it operates, and a necessary new consent choice must be provided.
Duration and expiry
Your privacy preference is valid for six months from the time you save it, unless you change it or remove site data sooner. After that period, the notice asks for a new choice. A session-related function is relevant only to the active visit and should not be treated as permission for indefinite tracking.
There are currently no active third-party analytics or marketing cookies for which a provider-specific duration needs to be listed. If such a service is added, the applicable expiry period must be included in an updated policy. Consent should remain tied to an identified purpose and the relevant information should remain accessible.
Changing your selections
The banner offers “Accept all”, “Essential only” and “Settings”. Optional categories are initially off. In settings, choose analytics and marketing independently and use “Save my choices”; the essential category remains available to support the requested interface.
You can reopen the controls using “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page, including the policy and thank-you pages. Browser controls can also remove site data. Withdrawing an optional choice affects future optional activity; it does not withdraw an email request, which can be managed separately.
Third parties and information handling
The site’s fonts and interface resources are served with its own page resources. The poll does not embed a third-party video player, social-media widget or external tracking script. Merely naming a public figure or referring to the Bank of Canada does not share information with them.
Ordinary hosting and security processing may be relevant to delivering a requested page. Where that processing involves personal information, the Privacy Policy provides the broader explanation. Please contact us if you want to ask about a specific provider or an observed technology.
Policy updates and enquiries
Changes to the technologies or their purposes require a review of this policy and, where relevant, the choices shown to visitors. We do not treat an old preference as blanket permission for an unrelated new use. The date at the top identifies the policy version published with the current poll.
For questions, write to [email protected] and describe the page or privacy setting involved. You do not need to include personal financial information to make a cookie enquiry. The Contact page lists the operator and the information useful when raising a concern.
