Terms of Participation

The conditions for taking part in a voluntary Public Voice Canada opinion poll and requesting related updates.

Last updated:

The operator and the poll

Public Voice Canada is operated by Lofthouse Wildlife Surveys, Wallingford. VAT ID: GB 432244330. Registration Date: 2023-02-13. Authorised representative: Elliot Mercer. Questions about participation can be sent to [email protected].

The service invites adults in Canada to express opinions about economic issues through an eight-question poll. These terms explain participation and related communication requests. They do not create an agreement with the Bank of Canada, Kevin O’Leary, Tiff Macklem or any other person or organization mentioned as a subject of a question.

Voluntary and honest participation

Taking part is voluntary. Select the response closest to your own view, and use an uncertainty or privacy option where it fits. You may leave the poll at any point, return to a preceding question during the visit or finish without requesting email updates.

Please do not impersonate another person, deliberately submit repeated responses to distort a poll, provide an email address you are not entitled to use or interfere with other participants. Participation should reflect an individual opinion rather than an automated or coordinated effort to manipulate the outcome.

What the questions mean

Questions ask for opinions, experiences or expectations; they do not establish the truth of a financial claim. A preference for a public figure is a statement about the respondent’s view, not a statement that the figure sponsors, manages or has answered this poll.

References to household pressures are broad categories. You are not asked to disclose exact earnings, debts, holdings or account information. Economic expectations can change, and an answer about the coming year should not be interpreted as a personal investment recommendation or a forecast from the operator.

Interpreting a voluntary poll

Participants select themselves into an online poll. Their answers therefore cannot automatically be generalized to every Canadian, every household or every region. A summary should distinguish the opinions of participants from a nationally representative survey and should explain relevant limitations.

No result, publication date, level of participation or effect on economic policy is guaranteed. A poll may be updated, closed or summarized when appropriate. Names, photographs and answer choices must not be used to infer that a public figure endorses the operator or the conclusions a participant draws.

Email requests and withdrawal

Providing an email at the final step and choosing “Finish & request updates” requests the survey-related communication described there. The consent text identifies Lofthouse Wildlife Surveys as the operator and explains the intended use of answers and the email address. You can finish without that request.

You may withdraw permission for future email updates by using the unsubscribe option in a message or contacting [email protected]. Such withdrawal does not require purchasing anything. Cookie preferences are a separate choice and do not automatically subscribe you to messages.

Charges, offers and personal decisions

No payment is requested to participate in this poll, and no paid subscription, purchase order or financial account is created by completing it. The form does not request card or bank details. It does not entitle a participant to a prize, discount or promotional benefit.

Economic decisions depend on personal circumstances and information beyond a poll. Nothing in participation supplies individualized financial, tax or investment advice. Participants remain responsible for deciding whether to obtain independent advice before acting on an economic view.

Content and acceptable use

The Public Voice Canada name, page design and written poll content are provided for participation and reasonable personal reference. Respect the rights attached to photographs, public-figure likenesses, fonts and other content. Mention of a person does not transfer rights to use their image commercially.

Do not attempt unauthorized access, introduce harmful code, extract participants’ information or use the service in a way that infringes another person’s rights. Links to our policies support informed participation; they do not authorize copying another organization’s branding or presenting our poll as an official public service.

Availability, interruptions and responsibility

The interface may be affected by maintenance, device settings, network interruptions or circumstances outside the operator’s reasonable control. Participation does not guarantee uninterrupted access. If an interruption affects your visit, contact us rather than sending sensitive credentials or unrelated documents.

Responsibility is assessed under applicable law and the circumstances of the issue. These terms do not exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. We do not promise compensation, a particular response time or an economic outcome merely because a person participates in a poll.

Privacy, changes and applicable rights

The Privacy Policy explains information handling, and the Cookie Policy explains privacy controls. These documents should be read together with the information beside the email form. A materially different communication purpose requires an appropriate new explanation and choice.

Terms may change to reflect a revised poll or service. The date at the top identifies the current version. Applicable Canadian federal and provincial protections are preserved where they apply; no term is intended to remove a mandatory right or limit access to a competent regulator or court.
